Athletes, citizens of Zagreb, friends of sports and this City!

Zagreb is a sports city in its essence!
As Mayor, I am extremely proud of numerous sports successes of my fellow citizens. This City Council supports both amateur and professional sports decidedly and with abundant funds.
We strongly support and gladly welcome all athletes who come to Zagreb because they don’t have good conditions to develop their sports career in their environments.
Sport and athletes are one of our priorities; all citizens of Zagreb know this.

The International Athletics Meeting is an important tradition of this City and a top-level sporting event, which gets better and better each year.
As Mayor, I would like to let you know that I am very ambitious about Hanzek, as we call it; I will do everything in my power and create the City’s policy so that the Meeting can develop significantly in the next years.
I would like to thank the organizers and all those who participate in its staging.

I am looking forward to excellent competitions and athletes’ fair play and desire to win.

As a sports fan and amateur runner, I am especially looking forward to the 58th Boris Hanzekovic Memorial Race!

I would like to let our guests know that Zagreb will welcome them as friends; I trust that they will have a most memorable stay here.

I wish all competitors the best performance and good luck, which is always needed.
